About Main Street Velo

Main Street Velo is a Cycling and Racing club located in Central Kentucky. Club members and teammates come from all over Kentucky including: Bowling Green, Frankfort, Louisville, Finchville, Shelbyville, Simpsonville, Waddy, Lexington, Richmond…

The Main Street Velo Team was founded in 2008 along with a cycling club, Shelby County Cyclists, by two very passionate and competitive Cyclists, Tom Waggener and Rob Grissom. The cycling club and race team as of 2010 are now known as Main Street Velo. In 2010 Main Street Velo Racing merged with Sunrise Bakery Racing to add several new teammates to the Main Street Velo roster.

The reason for the founding of the club and team was that Tom and Rob found that there was a growing and vibrant cycling community in Central Kentucky. Many of these cyclists wanted to ride with more riders or even race but did not have the time to make the commutes to Louisville and Lexington to ride or train with like minded athletes.

The club and team is made up of a diverse group of men and women with the desire to race and improve their performance as cyclists.

While many members are very competitive cyclist we also embrace new cyclists and help them grow through developmental programs and coaching.
